Phoenix is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country, yet the fuel supply remains constrained by limited pipeline capacity. Limited infrastructure leaves the region vulnerable to shortages and price spikes. The Western Gateway Pipeline will help alleviate these constraints, strengthen supply security, and support population growth and the economy.   The Western Gateway Pipeline will be capable of supplying 200,000 barrels per day (bpd) of Midcontinent refined products directly into Arizona, replacing the approximately 125,000 barrels per day that Phoenix currently receives via Kinder Morgan’s SFPP West Line pipeline from California. The Western Gateway Pipeline is a proactive approach to build a more resilient state by addressing shortage issues head-on. By ensuring new fuel volumes, Arizona can provide the energy certainty that businesses need to invest and thrive. The Western Gateway Pipeline signals to the market that Arizona has a sustainable energy solution, making the state an even more attractive destination for economic growth and long-term business investment. Diversification ensures energy security for Arizona and its economy. This project will provide a new, resilient fuel source, protecting consumers and ensuring that as our communities grow, they remain safe, productive, and well-served.
